VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State junior volleyball standout Eimy Negron Domenech and senior men's golfer Elad Sebbag were named Steel's Jewelry Blazer Athletes of the Week, the athletic department announced Monday afternoon.
 
This marks the first Steel's Jewelry Blazer Athletes of the Week for the 2025-26 season and the first for both student-athletes.  Negron Domenech had another record-setting week helping lead the Blazers to two huge wins last week with a thrilling 3-2 win over previously unbeaten in Gulf South Conference play Trevecca Nazarene and a 3-1 win over Lee.  
 
The Orlando, Fla., native, finished the week with 58 digs for a dig per set rate of 6.44 for nine sets, while she had a career-high 36 digs on Friday in the five-setter versus TNU marking the second-most digs in a GSC match this season.  She had a career-best four kills versus TNU and followed that performance with 22 digs against Lee on Saturday.  She added two aces and an assist for the week.
 
Sebbag, a native of Mountain Brook, Ala., paced the Blazers last week finished 38^th with rounds of 75, 71 and 75 for a 221 score at the Copperhead Championship at Innisbrook Resort-Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Fla.  The Blazers finished 15^th with a 54-hole score of 908 (308-300-300). 
 
This season, Sebbag has a 74.3 stroke average for the season in nine rounds and three tournaments.  He has eight rounds in the 70s and one in the 60s with a 69 in the second round of the NCAA Division II National Preview which was played Oct. 6-7, 2025, in Boulder City, Nev., at Boulder Creek Golf Course. 
 
The Blazer women's volleyball team plays at Auburn Montgomery on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET, before returning home to host Christian Brothers (Thursday, 5 p.m.) and Union (Friday, 6 p.m.) at The Complex.  
 
Sebbag and the men's golf team currently are competing in the Fripp Island to Bermuda Invitational at Fripp Island Ocean Point in Beaufort, S.C.
