VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's golf team concludes the fall season Monday and Tuesday at the Fripp Island to Bermuda Invitational at Fripp Island Resort in Fripp Island, S.C., hosted by Golfweek. The tournament includes 15 teams and some of the best teams in the South and Southeast Regions of NCAA Division II men's golf.
The field includes; Barry, Catawba, Columbus State, Florida Southern, Georgia Southwestern, Lee, Lenoir-Rhyne, Lincoln Memorial, North Georgia, Nova Southeastern, Rollins, South Carolina Beaufort, St. Mary's (Texas), Valdosta State and West Florida in alphabetical order. The individual winner of the Fripp Island to Bermuda Invitational will receive a spot in the PGA Tour Event Butterfield Bermuda Championship, Nov. 13-16, 2025.
For the Blazers, this week's lineup features junior
Alexander Nilehn at the top spot, followed by senior
Elad Sebbag, junior
William Carestam, freshman, Lowndes graduate
Kaleb Shiver and junior
Adam Waller. Shiver is playing in his first collegiate tournament.
Last week, the Blazers finished 15
th at the Copperhead Championship at Palm Harbor Innisbrook-Copperhead Course. Sebbag paced the team finishing 38
th with rounds of 75, 71 and 75 on the par 71, 7,340-yard course and 221 score. He edged Nilehn by one stroke. Along with Sebbag and Nilehn, Carestam also competed last week finishing with a 231 score on rounds of 79, 78 and 74.
VSU is scheduled to open the 2026 spring portion of the schedule Feb. 9-10 at the Matlock Collegiate in Lakeland, Fla., at Lone Palm Golf Club.
