VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Georgia College women's soccer team handed Valdosta State a 3-0 loss Saturday afternoon at the VSU Soccer Complex. VSU fell to 2-2 on the year, while GC improved to 3-1 on the season.

Hunter Wallace fired one on target and a team save from GC. The Bobcats had a header from Sydney Charles going over the bar from center of the box. A turnover in the defensive end by the Blazers led to a shot from Ali Amrozowicz, but junior
Claire Timberlake was there for a save at the 14:10 mark.
The Bobcats had the breakthrough goal at the 25:15 mark as Morgan Amrozowicz scored off an assist from Ava Martin for a 1-0 lead. Later in the half, nice passing from the Blazers from senior
Molly Wooldridge to senior
Ana Moleka who pushed the shot past GC goalkeeper Ella Hayes, but Moleka was just offside nullifying the goal. The score remained 1-0 in favor of GC at intermission. For the half, GC held a 5-4 lead in shots and both teams had two shots on target, while the Blazers had three corner kicks.
GC's Amrozowicz collected a bad clearance attempt from the Blazers and flicked to Ava Martin for a 2-0 lead at the 54:33 mark. Timberlake made a great save as she climbed the ladder to stop a Grace Phillips shot preventing further damage at the 59:01 mark. Wooldridge had a nice pass to senior
Ansley Decenzo who had a shot from the corner, but Hayes made a diving save at the 61:50 mark. Wallace had a good header off a corner, but Hayes was there for the save at the 65:20 mark. GC scored a third goal, second of the half highlighted by a corner kick for a goal from Abbey Eison and a 3-0 lead at the 69:35 mark. VSU had a shot high from sophomore
Kayleigh Kearns and a shot fomr Moleka and save by GC late in the contest.
For the game, VSU with eight shots and five on frame, while GC had 11 shots and six on target. VSU held a 9-4 lead in corner kicks, while GC had five saves and VSU had three. Wallace paced the team with two shots on goal, while both Timberlake and senior
Emma Pruett saw action between the posts. M. Amrozowicz finished with two shots, one goal and one assist, while Ali Amorowicz had two shots and one assist. Hayes posted the clean sheet with four saves.
The Blazers return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. versus Georgia College at the VSU Soccer Complex.
