VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 3-ranked Valdosta State men's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over visiting No. 24 Auburn Montgomery Wednesday afternoon at the VSU Tennis Complex.
The Blazers improved to 14-3 overall and 7-1 in Gulf South Conference play, while AUM fell to 11-8 overall and 6-2 in GSC play.

Jan Skerbatis, ranked No. 36 nationally, downed AUM duo of Titouan Le Maout and Adrian Contreras who were 40
thnationally, 6-4, to win the doubles point. At the top spot, AUM's duo of Alex Verdasco and Agustin Marquez downed senior Blazer tandem of
Luca Mack and
Christian Wedel, 6-4.

Jerome Iaconi made quick work of Verdasco at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0, for a 2-0 lead, while Skerbatis, dispatched Marquez 6-1, 6-2, at No. 6 for a 3-0 lead. Mack, ranked No. 27 nationally, sealed the victory with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the top spot over Guariente for a 4-0 lead. Taco, ranked No. 7 nationally, downed Contreras 7-5, 6-4, for a 5-0 lead, while Wedel battled back from a 6-3 deficit in the first set to Le Maout, for a 7-5 win in the second and a 10-6 win in the super tiebreaker and a 6-0 lead. Skierkier, ranked No. 29 nationally, sealed the sweep with a 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) victory.
The Blazers return to action Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the VSU Tennis Complex hosting No. 26 Hawaii Pacific.
