DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Valdosta State baseball team's four game winning streak came to an end with a 14-1 loss to Florida Tech in the final game of the Gulf South Conference/Sunshine State Conference Clash Sunday afternoon.
The Blazers (4-2) had one run on five hits and three errors, while Florida Tech (4-3) had 14 runs on 17 hits and two errors. The Blazers return to action on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Billy Grant Field at Tommy Thomas Park versus Albany State. VSU and Florida Tech split two games this weekend with VSU winning the first game Friday in walk-off fashion with a two run home run from senior
Bryson Gandy in the bottom of the ninth, while VSU won 11-2 over Embry-Riddle Saturday morning. VSU, ERAU and Florida Tech each went 2-1 for the weekend.
The Panthers opened the game with a run in the third on a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead. The Blazers came back in the top of the fourth with a sacrifice fly from junior
Jacob Harper for a 1-1 score. From there, Florida Tech scored two in the bottom of the fourth, sixth in the fifth and five in the seventh for the victory.

Jeremy Adams (0-1) took the loss in 3.1 innings, allowing six hits, three earned runs, walked one and fanned five. Unlike the first two games of the weekend where VSU had just one walk, the Blazers issued six free passes on Sunday. Florida Tech starter Dylan Cleveland (1-1) went six innings, allowing five hits, one earned run and fanned three.
