VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's soccer, season-opening match versus Clayton State was canceled Thursday evening due to lightning.  No makeup date has been announced at this time, check back with vstateblazers.com for future updates.
 
After a 30-minute delay before the match began, the teams were then able to get on the field and played just one minute, 52 seconds, before two more lightning delays resulted in the cancellation of the match.
 
VSU now will open the 2022 season Thursday, Sept. 1 at 6 p.m., versus Georgia College at the VSU Soccer Complex.
