VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 6-ranked Valdosta State men's tennis team returned home in emphatic fashion with a thrilling 4-1 victory over previously unbeaten and No. 14-ranked Lynn University Friday afternoon at the VSU Tennis Courts. VSU improved to 7-4 on the year, while Lynn fell to 10-1.
In an important regional match, the Blazers came out with wins at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles to set the tone early as No. 3-ranked duo of sophomores

Rodrigo Carvalho downed No. 49 tandem of Ignacio Martinez and Will Kirkman, 6-2. Sophomore
Christian Wedel and junior
Cameron Henricy Trigolos won at No. 3 with a 6-2 victory over Ryan Neale and Nicolas Cabrera for the 1-0 lead.
Heading to singles, Wedel gave VSU a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 4 over Gianmarco Amatiste. The Fighting Knights pulled within 2-1 as No. 32 Lucca Baptista won at No. 3 singles over freshman
Lamar Bartley, 6-4, 6-1. No. 9-ranked Blazer sophomore
Luca Mack handled Diego Gonzalez at the top spot, 6-3, 6-3, for a 3-1 lead and junior Christan Felline clinched the match at No. 5 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Rayane Alami, for the 4-1 victory.
VSU pulled within 10-9 all-time in the series and ended a two-match skid to the Fighting Knights. The Blazers return to action with three matches in Pensacola, Fla., Apr. 1-3, and then has road matches at Montevallo (Apr. 8) and at Columbus State (Apr. 13). VSU hosts its final home match on Apr. 20 versus Auburn Montgomery at the VSU Tennis Courts.
