ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Valdosta State baseball team defeated Flagler College 1-0 in its midweek nonconference matchup. The Blazers improved to 10-4 overall and stay 4-1 in the Gulf South Conference while the Saints fell to 6-9 overall with no conference games played.

The Blazers finished the game with seven hits, one RBI, two doubles, one stolen base, and four walks.

The game was scoreless till the fourth inning when the Blazers added one on the board. Redshirt senior
Luke Ard singled down the left field line and advanced to second on a Saints fielding error. Junior
EJ Doskow singled up the middle and scored Ard for the only run across the board for the Blazers.

The game went scoreless for the rest of the nine innings and VSU took the win 1-0.

Leading the Blazer offense was Doskow going 2-3 with one double, one RBI, and one walk. Graduate student
Mike Christopoulos went 1-2 and tallied the only other double for the Blazers. Hits were recorded by junior

Orlando Adams (1).

Zach Henderson as he threw four innings and tallied one strikeout and gave up one hit and one walk. Also throwing for the Blazers was sophomore

Ferrara recorded the win (1-0) as he threw two innings and recorded one strikeout. Garrastazu recorded the save for his second save of the season. He threw one inning and recorded one strikeout.

The Blazers are back in action this weekend at Billy Grant Field at Tommy Thomas Park hosting Gulf South Conference foe Montevallo for a weekend series. The series begins with a single game on Fri., Mar. 4, at 5 p.m. and will finish on Sat., Mar. 5 with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
