ALBANY, Ga. – Valdosta State senior 
Riley Tennant scored two goals in the second half lifting the Valdosta State women's soccer team to 2-0 victory at Albany State Wednesday evening.  
 
The Blazers (2-2) held a 15-13 lead in shots and a 10-7 lead in shots on goal in the contest as they posted their second-straight shutout. Junior 
Caroline Embler tallied her second shutout in as many games with seven saves.  Senior 
Ashley Lewis had four shots to lead the team with two on goal and assisted on the first score, while senior 
Zhanee Anderson tallied the second assist.  
 
For the Golden Rams, Thuto Ramafifi had three shots with one on goal to lead the team.  Maria Bacillio allowed two scores between the posts and collected eight saves.  
 
After a scoreless first half, VSU came out firing in the second as Tennant scored her first goal of the season three minutes into the final stanza. Bacillio came out to challenge off the assist from Lewis and Tennant put it past her for the game winner, marking her fifth career game winner.  
 
Tennant then hit pay dirt, once again, in the 71
stminute as Anderson dished to Tennant for the score and a 2-0 lead.  
 
VSU returns home to prepare for the Gulf South Conference slate, beginning Sept. 27 at home versus Montevallo at 6 p.m. at the VSU Soccer Field.
