Sal Amadeo was a three-year letterwinner for Valdosta State and a member of the Blazers’ 1979 National Championship squad. He earned All-America honors as a junior in 1978 and as a senior in 1979. Amadeo batted .320 during his career and scored a school-record 183 runs. He also owns the school record for stolen bases with 91 and tallied 107 career runs batted in. Amadeo hit 25 home runs during his career while also collecting 28 doubles and four triples. He batted .329 and stole a then school-record 35 bases as a junior in 1978. He scored 63 runs and drove in 40 during his junior season. Amadeo followed by batting .311 and stealing 45 bases while scoring 59 times and driving in 35 runs as a senior.
