Jerry and Kay Jennett’s affiliation with Valdosta State University began in the early 1970’s when friends Robbie and Janet Robinson invited them to basketball games. That simple act of friendship has resulted in a life-time of giving to VSU for the Jennetts and Jerry’s company, Georiga Gulf Sulfur Corporation. In fact, Georgia Gulf Sulfur funds scholarships for men’s and women’s basketball as well as scholarships for student-athletes studying in the Langdale College of Business Administration. The grass practice football field as well as offices in the baseball building are all named for Georgia Gulf Sulfur. Personally, Jerry and Kay have made gifts to help equip teams and reward coaches for National Championship seasons as well as to provide rehab and treatment equipment which benefits all student-athletes. Their generosity extends far beyond athletics as multiple endowments in the College of the Arts bear their names as well as that of Robin Robinson, the late son of Robbie and Janet. The Jerry and Kay Jennett Lecture Hall was named to honor the remarkable contributions of the Jennetts on countless VSU students.
