A long-time fixture on the Valdosta State sideline, James Dominey spent 29 years as the head coach at Valdosta State College after serving as an assistant coach for his first three years with the school. He owns the Valdosta State men’s basketball record with 436 career victories and led VSC to conference championships in 1972, 1977, 1979, 1980 and 1981. Dominey led Valdosta State to national tournament appearances on three occasions and counted 20 winning seasons among his 29 at the helm of the men’s basketball team. He joins his brother Tim as the only sibling duo in the VSU Athletics Hall of Fame.
