One of the most dominant basketball players in Valdosta State history, Don played for the Blazers from 1972 through 1975. He averaged a double-double on his career as he scored 19.3 points and pulled down 11.9 rebounds per game during his three seasons. He averaged 14.6 points and 10.2 rebounds as a sophomore, 24.6 points and 12.8 rebounds while earning All-District as a junior and 17.6 points and 12.3 rebounds as a senior in 1974-75, during which he was named an All-American. He scored 1,393 career points, 13th-best all-time at Valdosta State, and is second all-time at VSU in scoring average with 19.3 points per game. His 64.9 percent field goal percentage in 1973-74 stood as the school record until 2011-12. He connected on 585-of-1,014 career shots for a 57.7 career shooting percentage.
