VSU Softball TeamThe Valdosta State softball team ended the 2008 season with a 48-19 record, just one win shy of tying the school record for most wins in a season. Even though they fell short of that record, the team set several other school records including most runs, hits, RBI's, doubles, homeruns and walks in a season while several players broke individual records including most at-bats, RBI's, homeruns and walks in a season while Robin Williams broke the most RBI, homeruns and walks in a career. Pitcher Kristen Lindsey now holds the most strikeouts in a career at VSU.

The Lady Blazers finished the regular season second in the GSC East, clinching a spot in the GSC Tournament, where they fell in the semifinals. VSU made their third straight trip to the South Region Tournament where they lost in the second round.

Under Head Coach Thomas Macera, three Lady Blazers received All-America recognition: Williams, Alex Acosta and Kristina Ely.
