Tucker Pruitt On the 2008 Season Thus Far

This week we play host to Ouachita Baptist. At 2-0 we know they are a worthy opponent and capable of upsetting us and stripping us of our number one ranking if we do not play well. Our team is healthy and eager to get back on the field after a bye week two weeks ago and then a cancellation of our game last week at Southern Arkansas due to the hurricane.

Right now we are sitting at 2-0 and the number one ranked team in the country. With our number one ranking, and being the defending national champions, we know that we are going to get every team’s best shot so we have to be ready to play each and every week.

One thing that is going to help us on Saturday and for the rest of the season is the addition of linebacker DeMarcus Flanagan and wide receiver T.J. Williams. Both DeMarcus and T.J. have been practicing with the team since camp but have not seen the game field yet due to academic issues after transferring. It is good to see them get rewarded for their hard work and I know they will be super excited to get out there and show their talents Saturday.

We have had a good week of practice and hopefully we will not be too rusty after the long lay off. This will be our first of eight conference games, each of which should be tough and challenging. Our mindset is to take them one at a time and try to win one game a week.
