VSU Sports Medicine / Athletic Training
The Valdosta State Athletic Training Staff consists of two team physicians, five full-time certified and licensed athletic trainers, graduate assistants, and athletic training students from the nationally accredited Athletic Training Education Program. The staff is lead by Team Physician Dr. Kurt Jacobson, MD from the world renowned Hughston Clinic.
Under Dr. Jacobson’s directions, the staff strives to provide quality comprehensive health care for the student athlete. This is done with a referral network in Valdosta and at the Hughston Clinic.
Dr. Ben Hogan, MD also serves as an Associate Team Physician and is also Medical Director of the Athletic Training Education Program.
The Athletic Training Staff also works very closely with Dr. Dan Messcher, MD and Debbie Reagan, LNP and Kim Snow, LNP, through the Farber Student Health Center located on main campus.
This group of professionals along with our referral network provides access to the quality health care we strive to provide.
