Valdosta State Softball to Host Blood Drive

Give blood between 12-6 p.m. on Monday, August 31

VALDOSTA, Ga. - The defending Gulf South Conference Champion Valdosta State Lady Blazer softball team will host a blood drive Monday, August 31 at the P.E. Complex.

The drive will take place on the mezzanine of the Complex and will be run as a partnership with the American Red Cross Organization.

From the Red Cross website: "Blood is needed for emergencies and for people who have cancer, blood disorders, sickle cell, anemia and other illnesses. Some people need regular blood transfusions to live.

"Imagine if giving blood was part of everyone's life. Something you did on a regular basis, like eating at your favorite restaurant. What kind of difference would that make? For nearly 5 million people who receive blood transfusions every year, your donation can make the difference between life and death."
