Dean Thanks Community

Meet the Blazers a great start to season

To everyone who came out to Meet the Blazers on Saturday,

I would like to thank the entire Valdosta community for a record-breaking turnout at Meet the Blazers. We had more than 400 children participate in all the fun. That is, by far, the most support we've ever seen at a Meet the Blazers event.

It was a great way to start our season, and all of the players are pumped and ready to go against Newberry this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. The team and I would like to encourage every family that made it to Meet the Blazers to come out to the game so the Blazers can hear you! The kids are welcome to join the Junior Blazer Kids Run at the beginning of the game, as well as come down to the field after the game to catch passes from our quarterbacks.

Saturday was a great atmosphere for everyone, and I hope everyone who attended had a great time. Our players certainly did. I would especially like to thank the Valdosta State Red Hots and Cheer teams, who taught a large group of girls some VSU cheers that they used during the kids' run at the end of the event.

Coach Tennant, Coach Fields, myself and our teams would, once again, like to thank everyone. We look forward to seeing everyone at our home games this season.

Thank you,

David Dean
