VSU Advances to Semifinals

Lady Blazers Beat Hawaii Pacific, 5-2

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - Play resumed Friday morning for No. 4 Valdosta State and No. 14 Hawaii Pacific. With a 2-1 lead after doubles, the Lady Blazers only allowed one more point to HPU in a 5-2 win. With the victory, Valdosta State will face No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic in the semifinal round at 3 p.m. Friday.

Raphaelle Durante, No. 28, put away Nina Mihova with ease in the second slot with twin 6-1 finishes for VSU's third point.

With just two points left for the win Karine Redon in the fifth spot and Sonya Haggstrom in the sixth spot each earned wins. Redon put away Aleksandra Stankovic, 6-2, 6-2, and Haggstrom won the most easily with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Sandra Wikstrom.
