Valdosta State softball's 40-12-2 overall record assured the Blazers hosting rights for the 2016 NCAA Division II Softball South 2 Regional Tournament, which will feature four of the top eight finishers in the South Region. The tournament is scheduled to take place from Thursday, May 5th through Saturday, May 7th and will be held at Steel's Diamond at Blazer Park in Valdosta, Ga.

TEAMS: The following teams will compete in the 2016 NCAA Division II Softball South 2 Regional Tournament:

- Valdosta State Blazers (No. 2 seed) (40-12-2)
- West Florida Argonauts (No. 3 seed) (40-15)
- Rollins Tars (No. 6 seed) (37-14-1)
- Shorter Hawks (No. 7 seed) (30-20)

SCHEDULE: Tournament play is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, May 5th at 4:00 p.m., with a showdown between Rollins and West Florida. Valdosta State will follow at 6:30 p.m. with a first round matchup against Shorter. Day two will take place on Friday, May 6th, with three scheduled contests. The first game will feature Thursday's winners at 1:30 p.m., followed by Thursday's two losing teams in a 4:00 p.m.  matchup. Friday's final game will pit the loser of Friday's first game against the winner of Friday's second game at 6:30 p.m., and the surviving team will compete in the championship game on Saturday, May 7th at 1:00 p.m. Should the undefeated team lose in Saturday's first game, a final winner-take-all matchup will take place on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Check below for the weekend schedule, with live coverage links for games in progress, and updated results and box scores.
 

TICKETS:  Tickets can be purchased at the gate. Day passes can be purchased for $5. Seniors, youth (6-17), and college students with a valid Student ID can take advantage of discounted day passes, available for $3 each. All children 4 and under will be admitted FREE.

WEBCAST / LIVE STATS: Audio and video webcasts will be available for all games at the links in the MEDIA column above (links will go live shortly before each game begins). Games including VSU will be broadcasted over the radio in Valdosta on Talk 92.1FM and online at www.talk921.com. Additionally, live stats may be accessed for each game of the tournament HERE.

VENUE: VSU's Steel's Diamond at Blazer Park is located on Patterson Street, one mile north of the VSU main campus. Opened in 2000, the beautiful facility seats over 500 and includes lights, press box, concession stand, and public restrooms. Outfield dimensions are 200 feet. Please note that lawn chairs not permitted in the grandstand area of the park. Also, no outside food or drinks are permitted inside Blazer Park. 

DIRECTIONS: From I-75 at Exit 22, head east (at 4th light, veer right). Go through 8th light, the field is located directly behind Billy Grant Field (VSU's baseball field). Venue is located approximately 4 miles from the interstate.

PARKING: Parking will be available in VSU baseball's  Billy Grant Field parking lot throughout the entire tournament. Use of the Regions Bank parking lot will be available AFTER 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and ALL DAY on Saturday. Use of the Valdosta Middle School parking lot (across the street from Billy Grant Field) is also available.
