The Shorter Lady Hawks are the 2015 Gulf South Conference Softball Champions
Valdosta State Blazer softball's regular season GSC record of 25-4 assured the program hosting rights for the 2015 Gulf South Conference Tournament, which will feature the top six finishers in regular season conference play. The tournament is scheduled to take place from April 30th through May 3rd and will be held at Steel's Diamond at Blazer Park in Valdosta, Ga.
TEAMS: The following teams will compete in the 2015 Gulf South Conference Softball Tournament
SCHEDULE: Postseason play is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, April 30th at 10:00 a.m., with three additional games to follow. Day two will hold a similar structure on Friday, May 1st, with four second round games beginning at 10:00 a.m., while two final round games are scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, also starting at 10:00 a.m. Should the undefeated team lose in Saturday's second game, a final winner-take-all matchup will take place on Sunday afternoon at a time to be announced. TICKETS: Tickets can be purchased at the gate. Full Tournament passes for entry to all tournament games will be available for purchase at $20 each, while day passes can be purchased for $8. Youth (6-17) and college students with a valid GSC Student ID can take advantage of discounted day passes, available for $5 each. All children 5 and under will be admitted FREE. In addition, all active military with ID cards, along with their immediate family, will be admitted FREE throughout the entire tournament.
WEBCAST / LIVE STATS: All games will be broadcast live on the web and can be viewed HERE. Additionally, live stats may be accessed for each game of the tournament HERE.VENUE: VSU's Steel's Diamond at Blazer Park is located on Patterson Street, one mile north of the VSU main campus. Opened in 2000, the beautiful facility seats over 500 and includes lights, press box, concession stand, and public restrooms. Outfield dimensions are 200 feet. Please note that lawn chairs not permitted in the grandstand area of the park. Also, no outside food or drinks are permitted inside Blazer Park. DIRECTIONS: From I-75 at Exit 22, head east (at 4th light, veer right). Go through 8th light, the field is located directly behind Billy Grant Field (VSU's baseball field). Venue is located approximately 4 miles from the interstate.PARKING: Parking will be available in VSU baseball's Billy Grant Field parking lot throughout the entire tournament.
